Learning Objectives

At the end of this presentation, participants should be better able to:

  • Understand the key tests in the evaluation and diagnosis of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH)
  • Gain familiarity with the medical therapies for PAH and treatment goals
  • Learn the basics of pulmonary thromboendarterctomy surgery  (PTE), balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) and medical therapy in the treatment of CTEPH
