25th Annual CCO HIV and Hepatitis C Symposium: Regional Workshops and Annual Update (New York, NY)

The goal of this activity is to improve participants’ competence in addressing the most important and most current challenges in HIV and HCV management by providing a tightly focused update on recent advances and key clinical issues encountered in the clinic.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for HIV specialists, infectious diseases clinicians, hepatologists, gastroenterologists, registered nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with HIV infection and/or chronic hepatitis C.
Learning Objectives
- Apply the results of recent clinical studies of antiretroviral agents in HIV-infected patie
- Integrate the results of clinical studies of approved and investigational HCV treatments into current and future patient management strategiesNurses will be better able to provide appropriate care and counsel for patients and their families
- Integrate the results of clinical studies of approved and investigational HCV treatments into current and future patient management strategies
- Implement practical strategies to optimize patient management across the care cascade
- Effectively prevent or manage drug–drug interactions, adverse events, and other complications associated with HIV, antiretroviral therapy, and comorbidities
- Apply evidence-based guidelines when determining eligibility for and using PrEP to prevent HIV infection in persons at high risk
- Apply key insights from clinical trials and/or approved indications on the use of oral therapy for hepatitis C
- Implement practical strategies to optimize patient outcomes with HCV therapy
- Pharmacists will be better able to provide accurate and appropriate counsel as part of the treatment team
